Teenage girl sexually assaulted at Melbourne CBD shopping centre in broad daylight

A teenage girl was shopping with her siblings before she was sexually assaulted by a stranger in broad daylight. 

Victoria Police said the young girl was shopping at Melbourne Central on the corner of La Trobe and Swanston Street, in Melbourne, on July 2.

Investigators said a man walking behind the group bumped the girl on the shoulder and sexually assaulted her and walked away.

Police have released an image of the man they believe could help them with their inquiries. 

He is described as approximately 170cm tall, between 30 and 40 years old with black and grey hair.

He was seen wearing a navy puffer jacket and jeans along with white sneakers.

Anyone with any information about the assault, or who recognises the man, is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
