A toddler has been rushed to hospital following a viscous dog attack.

Emergency services were called to a property on Paterson Rd, in Yatala on the Gold Coast around 5.20pm on Wednesday following a report a dog had attacked a toddler.

The three-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Queensland Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is the third dog attack in South East Queensland this week, including a six-year-old girl who was attacked by two dogs in Woodridge on Monday after climbing on a fence.

‘Concerningly, another young child has sustained significant injuries from dog bites,’ Queensland Ambulance Service said.

‘Multiple paramedic units were called to a private address in Yatala at 5.20pm and transported a child to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition with head and neck injuries.’
