The agent, Kimberly Holland, verified the information provided by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office in Florida to CBS News.

According to a report from USA Today, Tori was approximately eight months pregnant and had a well-developed fetus. The medical examiner’s office stated that Tori may have experienced difficulties such as breathing problems and eclampsia.

Eclampsia is a serious condition caused by high blood pressure during pregnancy that can lead to seizures or a coma, as stated by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

“Unfortunately, so many people, including the media, are making speculations that she did something to herself, which is very hurtful,” Holland told CBS News earlier in the day. Holland could not be reached for comment on Monday evening. “So hopefully, now knowing the truth, there will be many apologies.”

After not hearing from or seeing Tori Bowie for a few days, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office went to her home in Winter Garden, Florida, on May 2 to check on her. Unfortunately, they discovered that she had passed away, and there were no signs of foul play.

Upon hearing the news of Tori Bowie death, USA Track & Field expressed deep sadness and acknowledged the immeasurable impact she had on the sport. They emphasized that she would be greatly missed.

Tori Bowie was born in Mississippi and was raised by her grandmother. During her time at Southern Mississippi, she achieved success by winning the NCAA long jump championship. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she earned three medals: a gold medal in the 4×100-meter relay, where she ran the lead leg, a silver medal in the 100-meter individual race, and a bronze medal in the 200-meter race.

In 2017, at the world championships in London, Bowie won gold in the 100 meters and the 4×100 relay. In 2019, at the USATF outdoor championships, she came in fourth in the long jump. This was her last major race.
