Spanish media have claimed England will ‘suffer’ during the Euro 2024 final and believe the Three Lions are under ‘enormous pressure’ to triumph in the Berlin showpiece.

Newspapers in Spain are confident about the prospect of their team winning a ‘historic’ fourth European Championship title, which would take them clear of Germany for the outright record.

The Barcelona-based newspaper Sport highlighted the expectations for Spain and England as being a ‘big difference’ between the two sides in their preview for the final.

Sport claim that England ‘needs to win’ which has made the pressure ‘enormous’ on Gareth Southgate’s side, while it states that Spain ‘just wants to win’.

The newspaper believes the Three Lions will suffer in central midfield, with Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo expected to struggle against their partnership of Rodri and Fabian Ruiz.

Despite the talent in the England side, the Three Lions have ‘no chemistry’ in attack and noted Gareth Southgate’s team have been criticised for their ‘stingy style of play’.

Sport’s print edition gives the Euro 2024 showpiece equal billing with Carlos Alcaraz facing Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final, with the tennis star also bidding for his fourth Grand Slam title.

Another Spanish website highlighted England captain Harry Kane’s ongoing pursuit of his first major silverware ahead of the final.

The website highlighted ‘Kane never wins anything’ in a headline, having fallen short in previous attempts to lift a trophy.

Sport newspaper Marca leads its coverage of the final with the headline ‘And for the fourth’, noting Spain’s bid to add to their European Championship wins in 1964, 2008 and 2012.

Marca state that  ‘England is the final challenge in Spain’s perfect Euro Cup’, with Luis de la Fuente’s side having won each of their matches in Germany.

The newspaper said the national team wants to put the ‘icing on the cake’ after a tournament full of victories, but noted that Kane and Bellingham stand in their way.

AS opted to preview the final with an image of a child playing football near a mural of Spain stars Yamal and Williams, including the headline ‘The future is ours’.

‘La Roja aspires to the European throne today after arriving undefeated with its brilliant, choral, and supportive football, and its commitment to Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, examples of talent and diversity,’ the newspaper writes.
