Woman dies after being pulled from sea in Brighton despite desperate efforts by emergency workers to revive her

A woman has died after being pulled from the sea in Brighton, despite the desperate efforts by emergency crew members to revive her.
Around 4.30pm emergency services arrived at Brighton Marina near the pier after concerned calls about a woman in the water.
The coastguard from Brighton and Shoreham as well as police and ambulance crews tried to save the woman.
A coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent in Hampshire was also called to the scene and landed on the beach.
An eye-witness told The Argus that the crews performed CPR on the woman for ‘quite a long time’.

A coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent in Hampshire was also called to the scene and landed on the beach
The woman was then carried away on a stretcher by the emergency workers.
It has since been confirmed that she has sadly passed away.
Sussex Police confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Sussex Polic spokesperson told the Argus that they conducted a search on the beach and found the woman’s body.
Her next of kin have since been informed, the spokesperson added.
