Revealed: Year 11 schoolboys among six injured in horror Lamborghini crash with Royal Mail van ‘after they hired £187,000 supercar to take them to end-of-year prom’

  • Boys believed to be Year 11 pupils from Stepney All Saints School in east London
  • Chilling dashcam footage showed the blue supercar smashing into the post van

A £187,000 Lambourghini Urus that ploughed head first into a Royal Mail van and left six people injured was hired out by a group of teens to take them to prom, it has been reported

The schoolboys – who are believed to be Year 11 pupils from Stepney All Saints School in east London – were passengers in the luxury car, which was reportedly driven by a man in his 20s.

A letter sent to parents, seen by the Mirror, said that although some of the students were injured there were no fatalities.

Chilling dashcam footage caught the incident on Tuesday, where the blue supercar can be seen careering in and out of traffic on Royal Dock Road in Beckton yesterday.

After running close a few times, the vehicle appears to pull out into the opposite lane to overtake and ploughs straight into the van.

Footage after the horror smash – which took place at around 7.20pm on Royal Dock Road in Beckton, east London – shows the expensive sports car and delivery van completely totalled with severe damage to both of the front bonnets.

An email from Stepney All Saints School’s headmaster Paul Woods to parents the day after the incident said: ‘You may be aware of a car accident that took place yesterday evening involving some of our students.

‘Our staff have been in contact with the families of those students who were involved as passengers of the vehicle.

‘I can confirm that although there are some injuries to our students, thankfully there are no fatalities. This has been confirmed to me this morning by the Metropolitan Police.’

The voluntary aided school changed its name in 2020 during the George Floyd protests to remove the name of Sir John Cass due to his links to the slave trade.

Emergency services including the police, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance rushed to the scene on Tuesday evening.

Six people were treated for injuries, with the Metropolitan Police, although none are in a life-threatening condition.
