MCU‘s Deadpool & Wolverine is just around the corner!
Now the final run-time for the film has been revealed, and it appears that Marvel Studios’ threequel won’t be the longest movie in the franchise after all.
According to AMC Theatres listing, Deadpool’s first MCU appearance will run for 2 hours, 7 minutes, and 45 seconds, including credits and a possible post-credits scene.
Without the credits, the movie is 1 hour and 59 minutes long, which is slightly shorter than Deadpool 2.
With the numerous cameos anticipated (some confirmed and others rumoured) and reports suggesting that this film will set the stage for the X-Men’s debut and Avengers 5 and 6, there was speculation that Deadpool and Wolverine might run closer to 2.5 hours, similar to many major studio releases today.
But, it appears director Shawn Levy will need to fit a lot into just under 120 minutes.
the official synopsis of the film reads:
“Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine,” reads the new synopsis. “A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him.”
“When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to – F*ck. Synopses are so f*cking stupid.”
Deadpool and Wolverine will feature Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the lead roles, with Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), and Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) reprising their characters.
Newcomers Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen will also join the cast, with Corrin playing the villain Cassandra Nova and Macfadyen portraying a TV agent.
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theatres on July 24, 2024.
