Attempting to function at work while in the wrong headspace can be challenging to handle.

It doesn’t matter what you do for a living; struggling with mental health while on the job can disrupt your entire life.

Here are a few ways to best manage that dreadful feeling if it’s occurring on the clock:

1. Know the signs

Are you feeling a little tense? Don’t forget to check in with yourself. Maybe you’ve been somewhat withdrawn or easily agitated – experts say if you’re feeling this way, keep it simple. Drink plenty of water, find someone to talk to and avoid social media.

2. Taking a break

It’s okay to feel burnt out. Experts agree that if possible, take some time off work. Giving yourself time to process and heal could do a world of good. It could give you a chance to find proper treatment.

3. Safe workplace

Experts believe more mental-healthy employees could exist if we had more mental-healthy workplaces. Experts say that creating ‘psychological safety’ by promoting safe work environments would result in more employees willing to be honest in how they are doing instead of constantly fretting about missing out on chances to level up within their industries.
