After he received a challenge to prove his powers from a Nagpur-based anti-superstition organization called Akhil Bhartiya Andhshraddha Nirmoolan Samiti, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has been a trending personality on social media.
Dhirendra returned to the organization with his reply stating that he ultimately believes in Bageshwar Balaji. He stoked a controversy after he allegedly ran away from the Ramkatha.
Since then, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has gone viral on Tiktok, Twitter, and Facebook. In his defense, he said that whatever inspires him, he writes, and whatever he writes will turn out to be true.
According to the baba, the residents of Bageshwar Dham will not tolerate any attempts to besmirch his reputation and will respond accordingly.
The baba regained media attention when a video featuring him and a Journalist circulated widely on the internet on January 20.
The video shows Shastri conversing with a Journalist and astoundingly revealing the names of the Journalist’s brother and nephew, demonstrating his mystical abilities.
Surprisingly, all the information Shastri stated about the Journalist was openly displayed on their Facebook profile.

Dhirendra Krishna Shastri Political Backing
Since being accused of being a fraud by various individuals, several politicians, predominantly from the BJP Party, have voiced their support for Shastri.
Among Shastri’s supporters, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister, Narottam Mishra, stands out, being referred to by Shastri as ‘Sanatani Babbar Sher.’
Mishra frequently visits the dham and has a solid devotion to Dhirendra Shastri. “Shastri also has the support of BJP’s National General Secretary, Kailash Vijayvargiya.
In a tweet, BJP’s Kapil Mishra stated his support for Shastri, mentioning that he supports the priest as he has performed “ghar-wapsi” (reversion to Hinduism) for numerous people.
Shastri’s political support encompasses more than just the BJP. Congress MLA Vikas Upadhyay from Chhatisgarh is a passionate supporter of Shastri and openly admitted his admiration in a video with the priest.
However, the godman was subject to criticism from Congress Leader and MP assembly opposition, Dr. Govind Singh.
About Shastri, Singh expressed that Sanatan Dharma is a fundamental belief for many people.
As quoted by India Today, Singh asked why Bageshwar Dham (Shastri) fled in the middle of the night. He expressed the desire for Shastri to verify his claims publicly to maintain the belief in Sanatan Dharma.
