Jasmine Hartin, a Canadian socialite, has been charged with manslaughter in Belize after Superintendent Henry Jemmott was reportedly accidentally shot by Hartin during a late-night drink on a pier in May 2021.
Hartin, who was previously in a relationship with Andrew Ashcroft, son of billionaire Lord Ashcroft, appeared in the Belize City Supreme Court where prosecutors requested that she enter a plea and presented additional evidence to Judge Ricardo Sandcroft.
The evidence will only be disclosed if the case proceeds to trial. The hearing ended on April 25th at 5 p.m., and Hartin will consult with her lawyers to decide on her plea. If she pleads not guilty, the case will go to trial, but if she pleads guilty, she may receive a non-custodial sentence.

The judge further cautioned them that such t-shirts would not be permitted in court again. During a brief adjournment, the family had to purchase plain t-shirts before returning to hear Hartin plead guilty.
Hertin, who is out on bail while awaiting trial, has given multiple television interviews in which she claimed to have accidentally shot her trusted friend, the officer.
