Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman seem to be teasing their long-anticipated future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as their X-Men characters, Deadpool & Wolverine.
Although it has yet to be confirmed whether they’re in the movie, both stars have been heavily rumoured to be starring as their characters in the Avengers: Secret Wars movie.
Jackman himself has been rumoured various times to be in talks to be one of the main leaders of the Avengers in the Marvel Studios Secret Wars flick.
While talking about their upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, both Reynolds and Jackman as well as director Shawn Levy opened up about their potential Avengers future.
When asked bluntly if they will appear in the upcoming Avengers sequels, Reynolds cryptically responded, “I don’t know. Yeah, we’ll see. Yeah.”
Levy joked by adding that they “were shuffling in their seats” when answering.
Jackman added: “Clearly, this is our first major interview of this press tour.”
He continued: “I’m not sure how to answer.”
“We’re going to get a far more packed and evasive answer for all future interviews,” Levy added.
In the same interview, Reynolds touched on how Marvel Studios has allowed him and his team to “evolve” both his Deadpool character and Jackman’s Wolverine.
“Shawn [Levy] and I are exhausting them as opposed to the other way around,” he said.
“They allowed us to evolve not just Deadpool, but evolve Wolverine,” he added.
Levy then added that, not only have they let them evolve their characters, but also evolve the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole – which could be what it needs.
Deadpool & Wolverine comes to theatres on July 26.
