The Conjuring franchise is set to conclude its main series with a fourth and final film.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. has announced a September 5, 2025 release date for The Conjuring 4.

While plot details are still under wraps, the fourth movie will be directed by Michael Chaves, who helmed the previous instalments, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are confirmed to reprise their roles as the demon-fighting paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, known for his work on The Conjuring 2, will craft the script for the final showdown.

Directed by James Wan, 2013’s The Conjuring laid the foundation for the franchise’s mythology.

The film follows paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, as they assist a family being terrorized by a sinister presence in their farmhouse.

The original film earned an impressive $41.9 million during its opening weekend and eventually grossed $319 million worldwide.

The most recent film in the series, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, brought in $206 million globally.

The eight official films in The Conjuring franchise have collectively earned $2.2 billion at the global box office.

Besides the two sequels to The Conjuring, the franchise includes three Annabelle movies and two Nun films.

“The Conjuring 4” is set to haunt theatres on September 5, 2025.
