Searchlight Pictures has released the much-awaited first teaser trailer for Timothee Chalamet’s upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.
The two-minute teaser gives fans a sneak peek of Chalamet portraying a young Bob Dylan in the biographical drama.
In the trailer, Chalamet is seen walking the streets of Manhattan, passing by Dylan’s favourite spots like Cafe Wha? and Hotel Chelsea.
The actor performs a stirring version of Dylan’s 1963 protest song A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall.
Written and directed by James Mangold, the biopic chronicles the early years of folk music legend Bob Dylan in New York City.
It leads up to the groundbreaking moment when he played an electric guitar during his 1965 performance at the Newport Folk Festival.
According to the official description of the biopic reads: “A Complete Unknown follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s (Chalamet) meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts,
his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation, culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.”
A Complete Unknown also features Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, P. J. Byrne as Harold Leventhal, Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie, Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman and Will Harrison as Bob Neuwirth, among others.
Timothee Chalamet’s A Complete Unknown release date has not been announced yet.
