Chelsea players are filtering back into Cobham as they prepare for yet another pre-season tour of the United States.

Enzo Maresca has begun his work as the new Blues manager, and will be getting to grips with a large squad ahead of his first campaign as a Premier League manager.

As well as all the players who were at the club last season, there are also a host of retuning loanees who have the opportunity to make a statement to the new boss ahead of the new season.

One player who is back now was actually an extremely impressive member of the tour last summer too.

Bashir Humphreys enjoyed a productive loan spell in the Championship last season, however has now been spotted as part of those back at Cobham this summer.

Bashir Humphreys has great chance to succeed in pre-season

With everyone likely to get an opportunity to impress in the multitude of friendlies they have scheduled, centre-back is certainly a position where the club will try out a number of combinations this summer.

It has previously been reported that there is a hope that they will be able to name Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill as their starting pair, after the Cobham graduate featured a lot in the left-back role under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Frenchman missed the entire last campaign due to injury, and his woes during the years mean the club cannot rely on him to be able to play the majority of fixtures up to now.

Thiago Silva has already left the club, and reports continue to go on that they would be open to selling Trevoh Chalobah for the right price this summer.

With those spots potentially to fill, there could be a great opportunity for Humphreys to build on his two appearances for the club up to now, and begin to feature on a more regular basis.
