Jason Cundy cannot see one important Chelsea player being part of the Enzo Maresca era.

Enzo Maresca is set to replace Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea manager following the Argentine’s departure from Stamford Bridge last week.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian has agreed a five-year contract with the Blues.

He will be taking over a really talented squad, one possessing the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, the two most expensive signings in the club’s history.

However, former Chelsea defender Cundy thinks it is “almost certain” that he loses a key member of that roster.

Jason Cundy tips Chelsea player to leave

Last summer, Chelsea sold Mason Mount to Manchester United despite the attacking midfielder being a key player for the team.

Mount had entered the final year of his contract and now Conor Gallagher is about to find himself in the same situation as his former teammate.

Cundy and former Arsenal winger Perry Groves both discussed Gallagher on talkSPORT.

“If you sell Conor Gallagher, you’re selling your soul of your club,” Groves said to one caller.

Cundy then went on to add: “I think it’s almost certain that Conor Gallagher [is going to go]. I think it’s almost certain.”

Who could Conor Gallagher join this summer?

Gallagher has often been linked to Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, but another Premier League club could be the destination for the 24-year-old.

According to The Independent, Aston Villa are looking at Gallagher, who has been described as a “fantastic guy” by former manager Thomas Tuchel, ahead of their Champions League campaign next season.

The fact that Villa are now a Champions League club is one reason why Chelsea should not sell Gallagher to them.

Again, he was one of the team’s best players, finishing the Premier League season with a WhoScored rating of 7.13, the second highest in the Blues’ squad. Someone like that should not be sold to a top-four rival.
