Chelsea have recently been linked with one attacker who has been tearing up Euro 2024.

Based on his performances in Germany alone, it could be very tempting for Chelsea to try and sign him.

And while he would not necessarily be a bad addition to Enzo Maresca‘s squad, you have to question whether the Blues actually need to make such a signing this summer.

Maresca already has a couple of really good options for the No.10 position.

Who could play in the No.10 role for Chelsea this upcoming season?

With Maresca often using a 4-3-3 formation at Leicester City last term, there is no guarantee that Chelsea will even operate with a No.10 under him.

However, if they do, the Italian possesses Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku, who can both play there.

During the 2023/24 campaign, Palmer scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 appearances for Chelsea. He is a natural choice for the position.

Nkunku is an alternative, though he could end up providing Nicolas Jackson competition up front if the Blues do not sign another striker this summer.

Dani Olmo does not need to be a priority for Chelsea

When you consider all of the above, then, RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo probably does not need to be at the top of Chelsea’s list right now.

It has been claimed that Chelsea are interested in Olmo, and he would certainly improve the quality of their squad. You only have to look at his performances at the Euros to know that.

In five games, the 26-year-old has scored three goals and provided two assists. According to WhoScored, he is also completing 2.8 dribbles on average. That is more than what the likes of Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal are managing.

Perhaps, then, Olmo could come in to play as a winger, a position the Spain international can also be used in.

But as far as the No.10 position goes, Chelsea can fill that role today with what they already have.

As per the Daily Mirror, Olmo has a £50m release clause in his contract that expires on Monday, not giving clubs much time to activate it if they want to sign the Leipzig star this summer.
