Of all the current first team players who could be leaving Chelsea this summer, there is one name who continues to be brought up as potentially on the move.

Conor Gallagher has just one year remaining on his current Chelsea deal, and reportedly a number of clubs circling if they get the chance to snap him up.

While reports have stated talks over a new contract for Gallagher have begun, there is no guarantee his long-term future is at Stamford Bridge.

One of the clubs who are reportedly interested in signing the midfielder are Atletico Madrid. Fabrizio Romano claimed they were actually the most interested club in Gallagher right now.

If this is the case, the Blues have a fantastic opportunity to complete a swap deal that will see them secure a player they have been linked with for a number of weeks now.

Chelsea could swap Gallagher for Samu Omorodion

It has been reported that Chelsea are interested in a deal for striker Samu Omorodion, however have been told they will need to pay a fee of around £70m to bring him in.

The youngster has already been described as ‘imposing’ during the early stages of his career, and made quite the impact while out on loan last season.

Chelsea have a plethora of midfield options already ahead of next season who could well feature alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Gallagher’s place under pressure in midfield

One of those is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who will feel confident about his chances of minutes next season after his success under Enzo Maresca at Leicester City.

It will be argued that it may be difficult to see a place for Gallagher though, with the likes of Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos looking for minutes too.

Striker though is a position where depth is not so clear. It has been claimed Maresca doesn’t want to start the season with just Nicolas Jackson as a striking option.

They may well be hoping that Christopher Nkunku, who spent most of last season on the treatment table, can adapt and feature in that role at times this season too.
