Chelsea have reportedly been paying close attention to what is going on at Euro 2024 right now.

The Blues are no doubt looking for exactly the right player in order to bolster their options ahead of next season under Enzo Maresca.

The Italian has signed in at Stamford Bridge for the start of what is a five-year contract with the club, and is no doubt eager to get to work preparing for his first Premier League campaign.

One position which has been reported to be of somewhat of a priority for the club this summer is a left-footed defender, and they have reportedly had scouts in attendance at the Euros to watch Riccardo Calafiori for Italy.

After a stunning campaign with Bologna, a number of sides are reportedly interested in bringing him in, and Chelsea are one of those.

Chelsea offer salary to Riccardo Calafiori

Now, journalist Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that the Blues have submitted their salary offer to the player ahead of a potential deal.

He said: “Not only Arsenal but also the Chelsea stationed since May for Calafiori even more so if the wall between Bologna and Juventus (tense relationships) does not collapse. The Blues had already offered an important salary.”

Despite the fact the signing Calafiori would no doubt be a fantastic addition to the side, there is another player in a similar role who is also enjoying a really strong time at the Euros.

Marc Cucurella starring at Euro 2024

Marc Cucurella has been one of the most consistent performers for Spain this summer, with them making themselves one of the favourites for the competition as a whole right now.

The left-back enjoyed a really strong end to the season at Chelsea too last time around, and will no doubt be believing that he has earned himself a place in the starting side when next season comes around.

Ben Chilwell will also be hoping for a big comeback season after seeing his last campaign ruined by injuries.
