Chelsea’s pursuit to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise has been one of the most intriguing transfer stories so far this summer.

Palace winger Michael Olise, 22, is exactly the type of statement signing that will boost the Blues going into next season.

GiveMeSport claimed recently that Chelsea have made Olise their top transfer target for the current window.

Since then, The Evening Standard has reported that Chelsea have started talks with Palace about signing Olise and that they’re prepared to pay a release clause that could rise to over £60m.

The Palace attacker looks more than ready to thrive in a top side, scoring 10 goals and making six assists in 19 Premier League matches last season.

According to Mail Online, Chelsea would be prepared to offer players to Palace if that’s a method that their London rivals prefer. It is claimed that Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah are two Blues stars that the club may consider using as makeweights in the Olise deal.

However, The Chelsea Chronicle thinks that a different individual would be perfect to offer up.

Chelsea should offer 20-year-old to Crystal Palace

If Chelsea want to get an edge in the Olise race, they really should consider offering Palace a player that could be a great fit at Selhurst Park.

Blues youngster Omari Hutchinson, 20, is the individual that should be put on the table.

Hutchinson, who’s a skillful right winger in a similar mould to Olise, could be the perfect immediate replacement for the Frenchman in Palace’s XI.

Chelsea’s Hutchinson spent last year on a brilliant season-long loan with Ipswich Town, where he scored 11 goals across all competitions as the team were automatically promoted from the Championship.

The exciting youngster definitely looks ready to have a crack at the Premier League. The Chelsea Chronicle thinks Palace would be a great next logical step for his development, too.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed via X earlier in June that Chelsea will listen to transfer bids for Hutchinson if they are in the region of £25m/£30m.

It could make sense for all parties involved if the 20-year-old offered to Palace as part of the Olise deal.

Michael Olise and Omari Hutchinson swap should be explored

There’s no rumours yet suggesting Palace would be interested in Hutchinson, but sooner or later they’ll have to look for a replacement if Olise is sold.

From a Chelsea point of view, despite his talent, Hutchinson needs to move away this summer if he’s got both Olise and Noni Madueke blocking his path into the first team at Stamford Bridge in the attacking positions.

For Palace, Hutchinson ticks a lot of boxes as a goal scoring winger with plenty of pace and trickery.
