Chelsea are reportedly obsessed with the idea of signing their priority transfer target this summer.

Now that the transfer window is open and in full swing, the Blues are being linked with several potential signings.

The Telegraph previously claimed that Enzo Maresca would like Chelsea to focus on the signing of a new goalkeeper, left-back and forward this summer.

There’s already been the confirmation that central defender Tosin Adarabioyo is moving to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer.

Now, the Blues are confident of signing another Premier League star.

Chelsea obsession with priority target

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has explained that Chelsea have an “obsession” to complete the signing of Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise this summer.

It is understood that the Blues are favourites to sign the 22-year-old attacker despite rival interest from Bayern Munich and Newcastle United.

Apparently, Palace have in recent hours put a new contract offer on the table to Olise as they fight to keep him.

Chelsea are still the frontrunners to sign the French right-winger and are in discussions with the player.

Speaking via Playback on Wednesday night, Romano provided an update on Olise’s future: “Chelsea have the possibility in the recent days to open direct talks with the player. Chelsea are confident of the Olise deal. Chelsea are confident because the discussions in the recent days has been positive and encouraging.

“Bayern Munich and Newcastle also spoke with the player because all three clubs have the permission from Crystal Palace to do so. But Chelsea are really pushing. Chelsea consider Olise their obsession. Chelsea consider Olise their priority target for the summer.

“An exclusive update we can also say tonight is on the Crystal Palace side. What I’m told is that Crystal Palace in the recent hours, something in the last 24/48 hours, presented a new contract proposal to Michael Olise. Dougie Freedman, the director of Crystal Palace, sent a new contract proposal to Olise. Palace or trying to fight and keep the player at the club. It’s a new contract with an increased salary, with the new release clause improved for the summer 2025 and 2026. Palace are trying their best…

“Palace also know that Chelsea, in this moment, are the favourites in the race for Michael Olise. Palace know that Chelsea are really pushing on the players’ side. Palace know that Chelsea are having good conversations with the player and want to go really big on Olise this summer.”

Michael Olise noise grows louder

The Chelsea Chronicle is growing increasingly excited as the rumours around Olise to Chelsea continue to ramp up.

He’s one of the most talented young forwards in the league right now, so would be an incredible purchase for any team in the division.

Journalist Simon Phillips claimed via Substack on Wednesday that Chelsea aim to complete the signing of Palace star Olise before the end of June so it can be on this years financial books.

Fans may get flashbacks to last year when they missed out on Olise and he signed a contract extension at Selhurst Park, but let’s hope the Blues can push a deal over the line this time.
