One signing that Chelsea have made this summer is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, bringing in the midfielder from Leicester City.

It is a transfer that has seen new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca swiftly reunite with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with the two working with each other at Leicester last season.

There is still time for the Blues to add more new signings to their squad, and they could yet do that amid links with several players.

The above includes RC Lens’ Elye Wahi, with it being reported that Chelsea are interested in signing Wahi this summer.

They are also thought to be keen on another player, but after landing Dewsbury-Hall, he definitely does not need to be a priority right now.

Chelsea interested in Fulham star Andreas Pereira

Chelsea could be about to lose Conor Gallagher this summer. The midfielder is now into the final year of his contract, meaning that the club could be forced to sell him before the transfer window closes.

Atletico Madrid are interested, but Chelsea don’t think Atletico can afford Gallagher. If he does end up leaving west London, though, it looks like they already have a replacement in mind.

According to Globo, Chelsea could make a £35m move for Andreas Pereira should they lose Gallagher. The 28-year-old was a key player for Fulham last season, missing just one game for them in the Premier League.

The Brazilian came up with 10 goal contributions for Marco Silva’s side and is an experienced Premier League player. Even so, whether Gallagher goes or stays, he does not seem like a signing that Chelsea need right now following Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall can replace Conor Gallagher

In Dewsbury-Hall, Chelsea already have a replacement for Gallagher. The two Englishmen are both box-to-box midfielders, making the former the perfect successor to the latter if he does end up departing Stamford Bridge this summer.

Pereira, on the other hand, is probably at his best when he is playing a bit further ahead, just behind the striker.

However, Chelsea are well covered there, with Maresca possessing Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku.

All in all, then, it probably does not really make much sense for Chelsea to drop £35m on Pereira right now.
