Alexander Isak does not appear to be the only Newcastle United player Chelsea are interested in signing this summer.

Alexander Isak is one striker who seems to be on Chelsea‘s radar right now.

It has been claimed that the Blues are even willing to hand Newcastle Nicolas Jackson in their bid to land the Sweden international.

He was in fine form for the Magpies last season, scoring 25 goals in 40 appearances, explaining Chelsea’s interest.

However, it looks like they are also admirers of one of his teammates.

Chelsea interested in Alexander Isak’s teammate

As well as a striker, Chelsea also seem keen on bringing in another winger following their pursuit of Michael Olise.

That ended in failure, with The Athletic claiming that they pulled out of a deal to sign him because of the finances involved, resulting in them having to turn elsewhere.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, they have since spoken to Newcastle about Anthony Gordon.

On Substack, Phillips wrote: “Chelsea have been looking at ways to try and sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle, but offering Jackson isn’t one of them.

“The Blues have had talks with Toon owners speaking about Isak and Anthony Gordon. But nothing has developed for either player as of Sunday morning.”

During his Everton days, Frank Lampard suggested that Gordon was worth at least £100m.

Why have Chelsea discussed signing Anthony Gordon?

Gordon is the kind of player who would tick a lot of boxes for Chelsea.

At 23, he is the right age for the club, who have been signing a lot of young players recently.

Gordon is obviously familiar with the Premier League as well, really thriving in it last season.

In total, he scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 35 appearances.

Overall, Gordon is a quick and direct winger whose developed an end product over the last year. His former teammate at Everton, Andros Townsend, has described his pace as “explosive” in the past.
