Darwin Nunez and Joel Matip were among the players to be put through their paces during an intense Liverpool training session – to the delight of onlooking manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have returned to pre-season training as they look to get themselves ready for the new campaign that gets underway next month.

As is the way with many clubs, training is not particularly fun for the players at this time of year with fitness work being the name of the game.
Long-distance runs, bleep tests and endless amounts of physio work are usually on the agenda and so it was no surprise to see that Reds players looked less than impressed.
Nunez was spotted with his hands on his hips while Fabinho could be seen wiping sweat from his brow.
Matip was also looking tired as he took the opportunity to rest on a piece of the training equipment.

Unsurprisingly, Klopp looked like he was enjoying watching his players being put through their paces, most likely because he wasn’t having to do the drills himself.
Klopp puts huge emphasis on ensuring that his Liverpool players boast supreme levels of fitness, something that he’ll be keen to double down on this term.
With their first match of the season being against Chelsea on August 13, the hope is that all of the hard work will have been worth it.
