The 21-year-old starred on loan at Reims last season, netting 21 times – more than Lionel Messi managed with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mikel Arteta currently has Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in his squad, while forward Kai Havertz is also wanted by Arsenal.

After scoring in USA’s Concacaf Nations League final victory over Canada, Balogun addressed his future.

“I’m not sure [about] the discussions that are going to take place,” he said.

“I’m not sure what’s going to happen. But I’m just committed to now; I try to stay present. I obviously want to enjoy the moment with my team and my family.

“What I can say is that I definitely won’t go on loan again.”

Balogun has been linked to the likes of Juventus, AC and Inter Milan, Marseille and RB Leipzig.

He signed a four-year contract with the Gunners in 2021, but has so far only made two Premier League appearances for the club.
