If Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is sat at home watching any of Euro 2024, he surely must be impressed by what a Blues player has just done at the major international tournament.

There’s several different individuals from Chelsea representing their respective countries at the Euros. We’ve seen a mixed bag so far in terms of how they’ve got on in the group stages.

One Chelsea player whose reputation was sky high going into this summer was Cole Palmer.

It’s already been claimed by The Athletic that Chelsea are planning to use Palmer a lot more regularly in the central No 10 position next season. Nobody should be surprised if the 22-year-old attacker thrives under new head coach Enzo Maresca, who’s someone he previously crossed paths with at Manchester City.

Enzo Maresca should love what he’s just seen from Chelsea player

The Chelsea Chronicle suspects Maresca will really like what Palmer’s just done at the Euros.

Palmer has had pretty much everything go his way in the last nine months. It’s felt like everything he’s touched while in a Chelsea shirt has turned to gold. He put up 25 goals and 15 assists in 45 Blues appearances last season.

Therefore, it’s been a big test of character for him that he’s joined up with his country and found himself sitting on the bench. While some may have stropped and struggled, he’s clearly remained professional and got some small reward on Tuesday night. England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo shared yesterday that Palmer has been one of the very best players in training (ITV Football)

Palmer, 22, played his first minutes of Euro 2024 on Tuesday evening in England’s final group stage match. He came on as a right-winger for the final 20 minutes and had a really positive impact on the ball in the 0-0 draw with Slovenia.

Cole Palmer has a fantastic mentality

Chelsea’s head coach is surely going to love the attitude and application of Palmer, who’s clearly not got a big ego even after a sensational season at Stamford Bridge.

The way he’s shown patience is a big tick against his name. Surely, he’s in the mix to play England’s last-16 tie this Sunday.

On top of that, Palmer looked as comfortable as anything during his first taste of a major tournament.

It’s just another reminder that the sky is the limit for him and Chelsea have a very special individual on their books.
