Mahrez has joined Al Ahli for £30million after five years at Manchester City, joining Edouard Mendy and Roberto Firmino, who have also made the move.

The 32-year-old was a popular member of the City camp, particularly with Haaland and Grealish.

And the pair have sent their own farewell messages to the forward on social media.

Haaland posted to his Instagram story a picture of the two celebrating a goal.

“Gonna miss you bro!! All the best on your new chapter.”

Mahrez helped City win the treble last season after victories in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

But the Etihad outfit were happy to see the winger leave this summer if a club met their asking price of £30m, which Al Ahli have stumped up.

Last season, he scored 15 times in 47 appearances but was left on the bench in finals against Inter Milan and Manchester United.

“To play for Manchester City has been an honour and privilege,” said Mahrez.

“I came to City to win trophies and enjoy my football. I achieved all that and so much more.

“I’ve made a lifetime of wonderful memories. Manchester City will forever be a huge and happy part of my life.”
