Berbatov gave some pointers on how to pull off a brilliant first touch

In a video where he appears to be training in his garden, Berbatov can be heard narrating over the top.

The video included the Bulgarian kicking the ball hard against a wall and controlling the rebound with near perfection.

He repeated this several times but never letting the ball touch the floor in a remarkable drill.

And speaking to viewers, Berbatov was handing out hints for those who wish their first touch was near as good.

Over the top of the video, the ex-striker said: “Alright people. Another summer, another ball and wall challenge.

“Go out there, find yourself a ball, find yourself a wall and you are ready to go.

“As you can see, I start simple. Just knocking the ball to the left and the right on the grass.

“After that, when I feel confident enough, I go and start some more challenging stuff.

“Hitting the ball at the wall in the air, trying not to drop the ball on the grass.

“From time to time, I am hitting the ball with more power so the ball can come back to me with a different speed like it is a game.

“This way, I am training my touches, my balance, my coordination, my reaction time, my stamina.

“Pretty much everything that you need in the game. Don’t underestimate this exercise.

“This is one of the most effective exercises you can do to train your touches.

“The genius thing about this exercise is the simplicity of it. Why? Because football is a simple game for smart people.

“You have a good first touch, your passing will be better, your decision-making will be better, you are going to read the game better.

“You are not going to over-complicate the game. Alright? So go out there and start practising.”
