One Chelsea player has admitted he currently doesn’t know if he will be leaving the club this summer.

There is expected to be a plethora of transfers both in and out of Stamford Bridge in the upcoming window, as the club get ready for a new era under another new manager.

Enzo Maresca is set to be named the next Chelsea boss, after he beat the likes of Roberto De Zerbi and Kieran McKenna to the role following talks with chiefs of the club.

It has already been claimed the Blues are going to look to bring as many as four or five new players in to help the new manager, however the current situation surrounding the club suggest that this will need to come at the expense of a number of current players.

One of those who many will have expected to be on the move is Ian Maatsen, who is currently preparing to take part in the Champions League final as part of his loan move at Borussia Dortmund.

It has been widely claimed that the Bundesliga side are looking to make the move permanent for him, with the release clause for his contract being around £35m.

However, Maatsen himself has now admitted he is yet to make a decision over where he sees his future being at.

He said: “I still have a contract and after the summer we’re going to decide where my future going to be. No, not yet (spoke to them). They came a couple of times to Dortmund to just see how I am and they’re happy with my development.

“They (Dortmund) just give young people opportunity. Like me, I just came here from the start and straight in. They give us the chance to shine and I’m very grateful for that, so that’s why I came here. I feel like I’ve been playing here with the guys for many years and it’s such a good feeling.”

With Maresca loving to play with inverted full-backs as part of his system, the opportunity could be there for the Dutchman to break in at Stamford Bridge at last.
