One Chelsea player earned praise from both Ian Maatsen and Malo Gusto following his individual performance in the Premier League win against Brighton.

Chelsea’s strong end to the season continued on Wednesday night by recording a 2-1 away victory at Brighton. Incidentally, that’s three times out of three the Blues have beaten the Seagulls across league and cup clashes this campaign.

Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku both scored in midweek to earn Mauricio Pochettino’s side a crucial three points.

The Blues go into Sunday’s final day of the league season sitting sixth in the table, needing just a point at home to Bournemouth to guarantee qualification into Europe.

Ian Maatsen and Malo Gusto hail Chelsea man

There were several impressive performers in Chelsea’s latest win over Brighton, including Trevoh Chalobah in defence.

The 24-year-old centre-back has found a purple patch of form towards the closing weeks of the season and is reminding everyone of his talent.

Chalobah uploaded a post on Instagram reacting to the Chelsea victory at Brighton.

Blues-owned left-back Ian Maatsen, who’s a Champions League finalist during this season’s loan at Borussia Dortmund, reacted in the comment section to praise Chalobah.

Also, Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto, who started versus Brighton, responded by calling his teammate “strong”.

Trevoh Chalobah brilliant again

It really was another dominant defensive performance from Chalobah in the backline at Brighton.

He’s started the last five league matches, with Chelsea winning four times and drawing once. It’s no coincidence either!

WhoScored data highlights what another imperious performance it was from Chalobah against Brighton.

Here are the academy graduate’s statistics:

Whether the versatile defender is playing centre-half or right-back, he looks equally comfortable and dependable in Pochettino’s side.

The Chelsea Chronicle definitely thinks Chalobah should be in the club’s plans moving into next season.
