Pep Guardiola’s influence is still felt by Man City stars off the pitch as Kyle Walker confirmed a fan theory about Bernardo Silva’s wedding picture.
The photo, posted on Instagram, was spotted by Eagle-eyed fans on social media who all noticed the coincidence.
The Portuguese star married model Ines Tomaz in his homeland over the weekend with a host of Manchester City teammates in attendance.
Compatriot Ruben Dias attended alongside Joao Cancelo whilst Riyad Mahrez and Kyle Walker were also present with agent Jorge Mendes.
Silva posted the photo of himself alongside his teammates but fans were quick to spot the order in which the players were positioned on the photo.
The players lined up for the picture in their correct positions on the pitch, highlighting boss Pep Guardiola’s influence from afar.
Portuguese centre-back Ruben Dias was positioned centrally and at the rear of the photo, with Cancelo and Walker both positioned in wider areas.
Mahrez was in an advanced wide position with Silva up top in a ‘false nine’ role.
Addressing the suspicions around the picture Walker himself took to Instagram with the same image.
The England star wrote: “A lovely day celebrating @bernardocarvalhosilva wedding (We kept the correct formation here).”
Twitter user @ClinicalBruno39 initially posted the picture of Silva and his Treble-winning teammates, alongside the caption: “Even in this picture everyone of them is in his correct position. Pep Guardiola really is the best man.”
The tweet picked up plenty of interest with fans left stunned by the observation.
One fan wrote: “No way it’s accurate.”
A second tweeted: “Just how is this so perfect.”
Another added: “The Pep effect.”
Another tweeted: “How did it happen like that? Years of Pep Guardiola can cause this.”
It capped off an incredible few weeks for Silva who played a key part in City’s Treble success, capped off by their 1-0 Champions League win over Inter last month.
A fourth wrote: “Positional play on and off the pitch.”
The 28-year-old racked up 55 games over the course of the season, scoring seven times with two goals coming in the unforgettable 4-0 win over Real Madrid in May.
But Silva’s future is yet to be decided with him believed to be looking for a new challenge next season.
His first choice was to move to Barcelona but the Catalan club are unable to meet the finances needed to acquire the Portuguese star.
Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have reportedly offered him a money-spinning contract whilst Paris Saint-Germain have made him their No.1 transfer target,
