Manchester United star Luke Shaw took to Instagram to send a heartfelt message to David de Gea following his exit.

However, the Red Devils star also hilariously revealed what he certainly won’t miss from the Spaniard now that he’s gone.

On Saturday, De Gea revealed that he will leave United after spending 12 years at the club.

His latest deal at Old Trafford expired this summer and discussions took place over an extension, but nothing was agreed.

Having been the club’s no.1 choice in goal throughout most of his time there, De Gea is now a free agent.

Shaw has been the latest United player to bid farewell to the 32-year-old and was on hand to have some fun at the same time.

On an Instagram story, the England international said: “An honour to play alongside you over the last nine years. A United legend.”

“Good luck in your next chapter, you will be missed,” Shaw also said, before jokingly adding with a smiley emoji: “(but not your music)”

De Gea played 209 matches alongside Shaw during his time at United, the seventh highest number out of all his teammates.

Both have tasted Europa League and League Cup success together and the goalkeeper, who also won the Premier League and FA Cup, is now set to find a new club.

However, United themselves may very well have already found their replacement ahead of the new season.

talkSPORT understands they expect to tie up the signing of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana next week in a £45million deal.

Boss Erik ten Hag wants him to join the squad on their upcoming pre-season tour to Oslo, Edinburgh and then the USA.

Personal terms between Onana and United have already been agreed, with the 27-year-old now set to take De Gea’s spot.
