Supporters of the Red Devils are gearing up for what they hope will be a successful season under Erik ten Hag but after seeing their new alternate strip, they might not be as confident as first thought.

The shirt is described as ‘a reimagining of United’s first-ever away kit’ with dark green colouring accompanied by white stripes and trademark adidas stripes along the shoulder.

It also has maroon-red lines separating the white stripes, which are reminscent of Manchester’s distinctive red bricks and architecture.

United’s alternate strip is set for its first outing during the club’s pre-season where fans will get their first proper look at the throwback design.

However as far as first impressions are concerned, supporters aren’t too impressed.

Another said: “Should have been green and yellow,” while a third simply put: “Absolutely horrific.”

“Who signs off on these designs?” asked one supporter, while another said: “That’s the worst kit in the club’s history.”

Another went one step further declaring it “the worst kit I’ve ever seen.”
