talkSPORT recently reported that Southampton turned down a £30million approach from Newcastle for the 20-year-old.

However, the Magpies have made a breakthrough in negotiations, with the deal involving a £35million fee plus £5million in add-ons.

Livramento’s former club Chelsea will also get 50 per cent of the money too after his exit in 2021.

He shined for the Blues’ academy before opting to leave west London for the south coast on a permanent deal.

The right-back has since made 34 senior appearances for the Saints, with the majority of those coming in his first season.

Last term, he was out of action for months as a result of an ACL injury he suffered in April last year.

Livramento made just two appearances in the 2022/23 campaign as a result so he was therefore unable to help keep Southampton up.

However, a move to Newcastle offers him the chance to return to Premier League action.

He could also be set to play Champions League football this season too thanks to the Magpies’ top four finish.

Livramento may not be the only star to leave Southampton for big money this summer.

Europa Conference League winners West Ham are interested in signing captain James Ward-Prowse.

However, their second bid for the midfielder worth £30million was rejected by the Saints as they prepare for life in the Championship.
