Chelsea could watch one of their targets move to Saudi Arabia before the transfer window closes.

It would be a blow, as Chelsea are yet to strengthen up front this summer. They have improved their defence and midfield by bringing in Renato Veiga, Tosin Adarabioyo and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

However, the Blues have failed in their pursuit of a new first-team striker so far. While they have brought in Marc Guiu, there is no guarantee that the 18-year-old will be part of the senior squad for the upcoming season.

Chelsea could sign Dominic Solanke, as the 26-year-old has a release clause in his contract.

Owner Bill Foley expects Solanke to remain at Bournemouth, though. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen may be staying where he is as well.

Victor Osimhen could move to Saudi Arabia

Osimhen has a huge release clause in his contract, and it seems like no one is willing to pay it, including mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have no plans to trigger it, meaning that the 25-year-old could end up remaining at Napoli this summer.

However, the Italian journalist has also claimed that Osimhen is open to moving to the Saudi Pro League if a switch to PSG does not happen.

Romano shared all of the above in a post on Instagram. Regarding Chelsea, they still appear to have the Nigerian on their radar.

Maximilian Beier is one alternative for Chelsea, though, if they also fail to sign Osimhen during this transfer window.

Victor Osimhen moving to Saudi Arabia would be disappointing

At 25, Osimhen is still at the peak of his powers. In the 2022/23 season, he helped Napoli to win the Serie A title after scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances.

The season before that, Italian manager Walter Mazzarri described him as “phenomenal” in an interview with DAZN (via Football Italia).

Simply put, it would be a waste for a forward of Osimhen’s talent and age to move to Saudi Arabia.

A switch to Stamford Bridge could work out for everyone, but that is only going to happen if Todd Boehly and Co are prepared to pay a huge fee for his signature.
