Chelsea do not look to be too keen on selling one of their recent signings.

However, with a new manager in Enzo Maresca coming in, there is a possibility of him losing his spot in the starting XI.

Maresca was named as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor on Monday, arriving at Stamford Bridge on a five-year contract.

Pochettino left west London by mutual consent last month, leaving Chelsea needing to find a new manager.

They quickly identified Maresca, who had only been at his now former club Leicester City for a single season, and brought him in to succeed the Argentine.

Enzo Maresca appointment not good news for Chelsea star

Last summer, Chelsea signed Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez from New England Revolution and Brighton & Hove Albion respectively.

Petrovic finished the season as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, but he now looks in danger of losing his spot in the team.

According to GiveMeSport, the Blues do not want to sell him this summer but there is no guarantee that he will remain the No.1.

In fact, as of now, it actually looks like he could drop back down to being second choice.

Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that Maresca has already told the Chelsea board that he really likes Sanchez and is looking forward to working with him.

Will Chelsea sell Djordje Petrovic this summer?

As long as the Blues do not sign a new goalkeeper, there is no reason for them to sell Petrovic, whose character is “amazing”, according to Pochettino.

However, with it starting to look increasingly likely that Sanchez will return to being Chelsea’s No.1 next season, Petrovic may fancy a move.

After becoming first-choice goalkeeper, he may not want to return to the bench.

Ultimately, then, you would not rule anything out. But even if Sanchez does start the season in goal, it is not impossible for Petrovic to dethrone him, which he has already done this term. So again, as long as Chelsea do not recruit in that area of the pitch, you can easily see Petrovic remaining in west London this summer.
