Chelsea look really keen on signing Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer.

The Blues are trying to bring in a new centre-forward right now.

It has been reported that Chelsea have been in contact with Newcastle over a potential deal for Alexander Isak.

The 24-year-old was such a key player for Newcastle last season, so the Magpies will be reluctant to sell him.

However, Chelsea could offer one member from their squad to try and tempt Newcastle into selling Isak this transfer window.

Chelsea’s plan to sign Alexander Isak

Isak scored 21 goals in 30 appearances during the 2023/24 Premier League season.

Again, this is someone who Newcastle will not want to see depart St James’ Park this summer. He is now one of the best centre-forwards in the Premier League.

However, according to The Sun, Chelsea are willing to include Nicolas Jackson in any deal for Isak.

Jackson only joined Chelsea from Villarreal last summer and was not bad last season either.

The Senegal international, who cost his current employers £32m, scored 17 goals in 44 outings at 22. Nevertheless, Chelsea do not seem to be completely against the idea of moving him on.

Should Chelsea include Nicolas Jackson in a deal for Alexander Isak?

It is not hard to see why Chelsea want Isak. He is a top striker; you cannot blame them for trying to go all out for him.

That being said, sacrificing Jackson to land the Sweden international does not make too much sense.

Chelsea were light up front last season. They need to be adding to Jackson, not offering him out.

If they plan to sign Isak and someone else or retain Armando Broja, then it could make sense to let Jackson go.

But if not, then the club really should not be looking to include him in a cash-plus-player offer for the Newcastle talisman. It does not look like they have taken that option off the table, though.
