One Chelsea youngster is definitely not going anywhere this summer.

Chelsea do look prepared to let some of their young players leave the club.

For example, Armando Broja and Ian Maatsen continue to be linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

It has been claimed that two teams have already contacted the former’s representatives. As for the latter, Borussia Dortmund want to sign him permanently after a successful loan spell there last season.

One of Broja and Maatsen’s current Chelsea teammates, though, will be staying in west London this summer.

Chelsea’s stance on youngster clear

While Broja and Maatsen may be leaving Chelsea in the transfer window, Andrey Santos will not be.

According to The Athletic, Santos will be staying at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea have already rejected enquiries from more than one Champions League club over the last few months.

The midfielder spent the second half of last season out on loan at Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg, but he will not be returning there this summer.

One source at Chelsea has told The Athletic that Santos is the perfect fit for new manager Enzo Maresca and that his ball retention is “out of this world”.

Should Chelsea have let Andrey Santos join a Champions League club?

Another loan move probably would have been good for Santos, especially at a Champions League-level side.

At Chelsea, you have to question how much game time he is going to get.

The Brazilian is going to be behind Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, the two most expensive signings in Chelsea’s history.

There is Romeo Lavia as well if he can remain fit during the new campaign.

Minutes will not come easily to Santos, but Chelsea seem to have made their decision.

If Santos does struggle to find game time under Maresca next season, he could always leave the club on loan again in January. It will certainly be interesting to see how the Italian utilises him.
