Chelsea are reportedly going to now kick into gear when it comes to making signings to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

Now the Blues have got past the June 30 deadline for last year’s transfers, they are ready to start spending big money again in order to give new manager Enzo Maresca the best possible chance at success.

An attacker is reportedly high on the agenda at Stamford Bridge, and they recently missed out on a deal to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

A winger remains high up on the list though, and if anyone at the club has been watching the ongoing European Championships, a new target will have stuck out nicely.

With Spain being one of the top sides so far in the competition, one of their best performing players has been winger Nico Williams.

Chelsea confident of signing Williams ahead of Barcelona

Forming a really strong partnership with Marc Cucurella down the left, the duo have been extremely impressive on their way to the quarter-finals so far.

Rio Ferdinand is one figure who has been very impressed with what he has seen from the youngster, describing him as ‘electric’.

The Blues have previously been linked with the signing of Williams, and now according to Sport, they believe they are in a better place than rivals Barcelona to complete a deal.

Bringing him in already looks an uphill battle, and the fact the club believe the money involved is going to be high could put them off a deal.

Chelsea hoping Mudryk stars under Enzo Maresca

There will be some hoping that the news that a new signing could be made may could be exactly what is needed to finally kick Mykhailo Mudryk into gear.

The Ukranian has not enjoyed the most positive start to life at Stamford Bridge, however there is reported confidence that the new manager could be exactly what he needs to finally start to show why so much money was spent on bringing him in.
