Mauricio Pochettino left Chelsea at the end of May by mutual agreement and has since been replaced by Enzo Maresca.

The new Chelsea manager seems to be making quite the impression as well. Tosin Adarabioyo is really happy working with Maresca, for example.

The central defender is just one of several new signings Chelsea have made this summer, and their business does not look finished yet amid links with Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen.

Jorgensen is hoping to join Chelsea rather than Marseille, and he may get his wish following the club’s decision to bring in a new goalkeeper.

As for the players who Chelsea already have and who were at Stamford Bridge before the likes of Adarabioyo and Renato Veiga arrived, they are having to get used to life without Pochettino.

Do Chelsea players miss Mauricio Pochettino?

Given that Chelsea managed to finish last season so strongly, winning all of their final five Premier League fixtures, Pochettino’s departure was a bit of a shock.

In fact, it was claimed that Chelsea’s squad reacted sadly to Pochettino’s exit. Fast forward to now, and it looks like not everyone has got over it.

According to one of The Athletic‘s sources, while Maresca has been making an impact on them, a sizeable contingent of Chelsea players still miss their former manager.

They are going to have to move on and adapt to life under Maresca, though. If the Italian can meet the club’s objectives, then he will not be going anywhere any time soon.

Maresca signed a five-year contract when he joined Chelsea with an option of another 12 months.

Chelsea should have convinced Mauricio Pochettino to stay

As alluded to earlier, Pochettino was really starting to turn things around at Chelsea.

After spending the majority of last season in mid-table, he guided them to sixth place, which would have been enough for Europa League football had Manchester United not won the FA Cup.

The Argentine looked to have been building something very slowly in SW6. Pochettino could now head to Newcastle if Eddie Howe becomes the next England manager.
