The Chelsea squad are deep in preperation for their first friendly match under their new manager in the next 24 hours.

The Blues will take on Wrexham tonight, with Enzo Maresca getting the chance to show the message he is looking to get across to his new players.

He has a number of weeks under his belt now training with the squad, with players such as Moises Caicedo joining up with the squad after his Copa America exploits.

There have also been a number of players back amongst the first team who spent the majority of last season on the sidelines.

One of those is Wesley Fofana. Chelsea are reportedly keen to take no risks with his fitness during the tour of the United States.

Wesley Fofana completes full training session

Despite this, journalist Nizaar Kinsella claimed that he was one of the players who completed the whole open session which took place last night.

He said: “Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana are doing the full training session.”

Fofana seen with strapping on his knee

There were some who were left worried about how he was going to get on after Fofana was seen with strapping on his knee in a session last week.

However, it does seem as if he is at a level where he can take full part, and potentially put himself in line for some minutes in the coming games.

There is certainly plenty of fans of the Frenchman in the game. Gary Lineker has formally described him as ‘special’.

One defender who will definitely not take part in the upcoming fixtures is Trevoh Chalobah, after he was left out of the travelling squad to the United States.

It has been claimed that the club are looking to force Chalobah out this summer, and this is the first step in looking to gain genuine interest in his services.

There is enough faith in the players they already have available to them in the position, including new signing Tosin Adarabioyo.

Fofana will be hoping his injury problems are in the past and he can become a regular at Stamford Bridge this summer.
