Kylian Mbappe could earn £605million for just one season’s work in Saudi Arabia if he joins Al Hilal.

Paris Saint-Germain have been waiting for an offer from Saudi Arabia this summer after Mbappe refused to pen a new deal at the club.

But even they must have been shocked at the bid made, amounting to £259m (€300m), which would be a world-record.

Furthermore, Al Hilal are prepared to pay Mbappe an astonishing £605m (€700m) before allowing him to join Real Madrid next year.

That would see the France international become the best-paid player in the world – by some margin.

It might be no surprise to see that Cristiano Ronaldo currently earns the most after joining Saudi side Al Nassr last season, signing a £62m-a-year contract over two-and-a-half years.

Mbappe’s deal, however, would see him make nearly 10 times more than what the five-time Ballon d’Or takes home.

Harry Kane is paid £200,000 a week at Tottenham, making a yearly salary of £10.4m.

But Mbappe, who has one year left on his contract at PSG, would earn £11.6m… a week.

The extravagant contract would see the 24-year-old make £19 a second, £1,151 a minute, £69,030 an hour, £1.65m a day and £50.3m-a-month.

Despite the mind-boggling numbers involved, perhaps the most perplexing part would be the fact it would only be a year-long contract.

Al Hilal would be happy to see Mbappe leave after a year and make a dream move to Real Madrid with his bank balance bursting.

However, the Saudi side would also be more than keen to accommodate a longer deal should the forward start to get cosy in the Gulf State.

It remains to be seen, though, whether Mbappe will accept the mammoth offer, though PSG would like an answer to the saga as soon as possible.

CBS soccer correspondent journalist James Benge, who broke the news of the Mbappe offer, joined talkSPORT to discuss the story and his possible move to Saudi Arabia.

“PSG are very open to doing a deal at that level,” he said. “It would make him the world’s most expensive footballer and it’s really hard to imagine someone saying no to €700million.

“It’s a staggering amount of money, and it comes with a willingness from Al Hilal’s side, if it’s what Mbappe wants, for him to go to Real Madrid next year.

“One thing I was told is, for Al-Hilal, when you put these numbers in euro terms, it becomes the first €1billion footballer – there’s almost a desire for that to be the talking point of the summer.

“Real Madrid, I don’t know. I’m sure that Al-Hilal’s pitch to Mbappe would be, you can stay here if you want the money. And Real Madrid will obviously say, there is no way on earth we can match that salary or even get close.

“Maybe Mbappe looks at it as a one-off, let’s build up the bank account for a year and then almost go and do what I want, follow my dreams.”

The Ligue 1 champions have left their talismanic star at home after jetting off on a pre-season tour of Asia.

They have also made him train with a select group of players who have been told they are not wanted at the Parc des Princes.

Including players such as Georginio Wijnaldum, Leandro Paredes and Julian Draxer, the French press have taken to calling them the ‘undesirables’.

Real Madrid have long been held as Mbappe’s idyllic destination but the Spanish giants have yet to come to the negotiating table.

Other clubs that are reported to be interested in the World Cup winner include Premier League clubs Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham.
