Talk has persisted ever since the summer transfer window opened around a magnitude of first team players potentially leaving Chelsea.

They have already said goodbye to Ian Maatsen and Omari Hutchinson, although have recieved substantial transfer fees for them in the process.

Only a handful of players, such as academy graduate Levi Colwill, have been declared not for sale at any price this summer, opening up the potential for some real change at Stamford Bridge.

The left-back area is one that is up for debate at this stage. An exit for Ben Chilwell has not been ruled out by any means at this stage.

This is the same for Marc Cucurella, despite the real turnaround in his form in the last few months for both club and country.

Marc Cucurella really happy at Chelsea

Despite reports still linking him with a potential move away, his agent Aleix Pique has stated that he is more than happy in West London.

He said to Cadenaser: “He is very comfortable and happy at Chelsea, in London and his idea is to continue. Under normal conditions, he will continue.”

Cucurella has been one of the top and most consistent performers at Euro 2024 so far, and has the chance to win the competition as a whole on Sunday against Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher’s England.

He will be hoping his turnaround which started in the final few weeks of last season will be enough to prove to new manager Enzo Maresca that he should be starting the season in the left-back position.

His main rival for the role, Chilwell, is already back at Cobham for the start of pre-season. He has already been overheard receiving praise from the new boss for his work on the training pitch.

They are likely to be joined by Renato Veiga as an option to play that role, with him set to join the club from Basel after completing his medical.
