One player who is desperately hoping for a turn in fortunes at Chelsea is Wesley Fofana.

The Frenchman joined the club for big money two seasons ago, however has seen his time at Stamford Bridge hampered horribly by injuries.

Fofana missed the entirety of the last campaign due to a serious knee issue he suffered in pre-season, leaving many to forget the quality of player Chelsea have at their disposal.

Pre-season will also be important to see how the new signings brought in by the club get on under new manager Enzo Maresca.

The Italian has recently seen one of his top performers from last season at Leicester City join him at his new club. The Blues have recently officially announced the signing of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Fofana delighted with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall signing

Another figure at the club who has a knowledge of the Englishman is Fofana from their time together with the Foxes.

Needless to say, the defender is clearly delighted with the addition, posting the news on his Instagram story with a heart eyes emoji as well as two fire emojis.

Discussions have already been had amongst supporters as to what exactly they can expect from Dewsbury-Hall, with there being plenty of competition for places in the middle of the park at Chelsea.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will surely start the campaign together after joining in consecutive transfer windows.

Romeo Lavia hoping for injury-free season

Romeo Lavia will be hoping for an injury free season too, after featuring just once in his debut camapign at Stamford Bridge.

One person who may well be fearing for their place after Dewsbury-Hall’s addition is Conor Gallagher, who has just one year left on his current deal.

It has frequently been claimed that he is available for a transfer this summer for the right price, with Tottenham one of the sides who have been mentioned as interested.

However, their recent signing of Archie Gray could see them decide to prioritise another signing instead of another midfielder.
