Abbie Chatfield reveals her mental health is ‘the worst it’s been in years’ due to constant work pressure: ‘I’ve had dark thoughts I can’t shake’
Abbie Chatfield made the sad confession on Tuesday that her mental health is at an all-time low due to mounting work pressures.
The TV and radio host, 27, shared several photos on Instagram from her recent shoot for Stellar magazine, revealing in the caption she had been in a bad place mentally on the day of the shoot.
‘I love these photos, the team at Stellar are some of the best in the country, but these photos were taken in between me having breaks to go outside to cry,’ she wrote.
‘Lately my mental health has been the worst it has been in years, the first quarter of the year brought a level of work stress I had never experienced.
‘All of this led me to having consistently dark thoughts I couldn’t shake. The morning of this shoot, I cried the whole way driving there.’

She said her mounting work pressure is getting to her, but there is no room in her hectic schedule to take time off to recuperate.
Many of Abbie’s celebrity pals were quick to jump to her support and begged the Hit Network presenter to prioritise her mental health.
‘Praying you can find some time off to recalibrate and ground yourself,’ commented Dance Academy star Dena Kaplan.

Back in December, Abbie revealed she was on bed rest after cancelling her live podcast gig at Beyond The Valley due to mental and physical exhaustion.
The Bachelor star was scheduled to host a live podcast at Beyond The Valley festival in Melbourne, but cancelled a few days prior.

She shared an emotional and heartfelt Instagram post to her 451,000 followers explaining how she was both ‘mentally and physically’ exhausted.
Abbie clarified she was not having a ‘breakdown’ but was pulling back before she reached the edge of her ‘threshold’.
She went on to explain she wouldn’t have been able to give the 90-minute show her full attention and it would have let down the audience.
At the time, many of Abbie’s friends offered lots of support, such as Married At First Sight star Domenica Calarco and influencer Steph Claire Smith.
