Bruno Tonioli received a telling off from head judge Simon Cowell as he made a massive blunder during Saturday’s series premiere of Britain’s Got Talent

The panel’s latest addition, 67, hit his red buzzer after opting not to send a contestant through, breaking the show’s protocols in which judges usually press it during a performance.

Wacky auditionee Mikko Rautiainen left the audience disgusted as he took a recorder and stuck it up his nose to play a number of tunes.

The former Strictly star said in his feedback: ‘Well it’s definitely original and your nose is going to be perfectly clean, but it’s a no from me.’

But it was when he pressed his buzzer, Simon interjected, ‘You don’t have to do that as well. You can just say no!’

A puzzled Bruno replied: ‘I don’t have to do that? Oh I’m sorry,’ but Simon snapped, ‘Have you ever watched this show?’

It’s no secret that Bruno hasn’t, as he previously said: ‘I told Simon, I never watched the show before. But I never watch anything I’m in, I never even watched Strictly or Dancing With the Stars.’

At another point in the episode, it all descended into chaos as Bruno pressed his golden buzzer halfway through an act’s performance.

He made his debut on the ITV talent show alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, where he quickly got stuck into enjoying the entertainment on offer.

The calamitous Italian got into a spot of bother as he excitedly pressed his golden buzzer for Ugandan dance act Ghetto Kids before they’d were finished their performance.

While it’s customary that the judges or hosts Ant and Dec press this button after the performance, the talented orphans were showered with golden confetti while they danced on stage.

The group, though delighted with the golden buzzer, ploughed on through the performance and put on a great show – despite hardly being able to see through the confetti.

The jaw-dropping moment left both the audience and Bruno’s fellow judges in shock, with Simon declaring that this had ‘never happened’ before.
