Cops ‘wait outside’ KIIS FM studios for serial driving offender Kyle Sandilands… but radio star’s smooth tongue gets him out of a ticket

He’s frequently on the radar of police and parking inspectors, often racking up tens of thousands dollars worth of fines over the course of a year.

And Kyle Sandilands appeared to be in trouble again on Tuesday morning, when the radio star, 52, pulled into KIIS FM’s studios with police ‘waiting’ for him outside.

In video shared to The Kyle and Jackie O Show’s Instagram account, several police were ‘waiting for Kyle’ when the radio star pulled into his studio at 5:30am.

Officers approached Sandilands as he stepped out of his $250,000 Cadillac Escalade Platinum 4WD.

However in audio recorded by station staff, Sandilands could be heard deftly talking himself out of trouble.

Show employees revealed on air that police pulled over and spoke to them while they waited for Kyle to arrive for that morning’s show.

However it turned out the police simply wanted to talk to the father-of-one about comments he had made on the air. 

‘The highway patrol dude[s], they’ve come out and they’ve said, “Listen, we’ve heard you on the air saying you think the coppers are after you.” And they’ve come out to tell me they’re not after me.’

Kyle remained skeptical, telling officers he was concerned because he only had ‘four points’ left on his driver’s licence. 

But the interaction ended on good terms, with Kyle ringing one officer’s fiancée who was a fan of the show and telling her she’d found ‘a good one’ in her law enforcement beau.

Back in 2021, Sandilands admitted he had accumulated around $16,000 worth of fines from that year alone.

‘Sometimes I get away with parking, I’ve seen it with my own eyes,’ Kyle said as he chatted to his manager and good friend Bruno Bouchet on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Bruno added some parking rangers don’t bother with fining Kyle as they know he won’t cough up the cash.

‘There are a number of rangers who will never book you… they’re good people, fans of the show and know it’s more hassle than worth to book you anyway,’ Bruno said.

Kyle said he just outright refuses to buy a ticket.

‘I never buy a ticket, I say f**k the local council, I’m not paying you $4, screw yourself!’ Kyle explained.

Kyle, Bruno and Jackie O then broke down the figures.

Kyle said he had 18 fines for ‘parking continuously longer than indicated’ in a zone, which totals up to $2,088.

For disobeying a stop sign 25 times, Kyle has to cough up $5,675.

For stopping in a loading zone and being charged 42 times for the infringement, he has to pay back a total of $8,148.

The eye-watering total for this year comes to $15,911.

Jackie couldn’t believe the figure and told Kyle it was ‘such a waste of money’.

In the scheme of thing $16,000 is a drop in the ocean for Kyle, who reportedly earns a whopping $5million per year to co-host the Kyle and Jackie O Show and drives a $380,000 Bentley.

In 2019, he added to his car collection, getting a $1.3million Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Jake Challenor, the publisher of industry bible Radio Today, said Kyle and Jackie O are paid $5million a year each to host Sydney’s top-rated FM breakfast show.
