Melissa Leong set to host MasterChef Australia spin off show Dessert Masters alongside social media sensation Amaury Guichon

A European chef who is a social media sensation will be joining Melissa Leong as a host of Channel 10’s new MasterChef spin off show Dessert Masters.     

Renowned chef Amaury Guichon, who has amassed an impressive 50 million followers across his social media platforms, will be bringing his expertise to the exciting new baking show. 

The chocolatier became a viral sensation after he began to share his incredible life-like edible sculptures online. 

The 31-year-old is also no stranger to TV as he fronted the Netflix series School of Chocolate.

He will co-host the show with Melissa Leong, who has been a host and judge for the MasterChef Australia franchise since 2020.

The food critic first began her TV career on Netflix’s The Chef’s Line in 2016 and now she is going head first into the world of deserts with the new Channel 10 show.

Leong said she’s so excited to show audiences her sweet side. 

‘Desserts have the capacity to be magical. I’m excited to see what these talented chefs are capable of when let loose in the MasterChef kitchen,’ she said.

‘Creating a memorable dessert takes years of practice, technique and an exacting eye for detail. Throw people with these qualities into a place like the MasterChef kitchen and stand back… who knows what they will bring to life.’

Speaking about his sweet new gig, Guichon said: ‘I feel very honoured to have been chosen to be part of this wonderful new adventure that will once again highlight our beautiful industry with all its craft and complexity.

‘I am excited to discover what the contestants will create in order to wow us.’

The show will see contestants battle it out to wow the judges with their sweet creations with a massive $100K on the line for the overall winner.
