Stepping out: Lady Victoria Hervey was spotted enjoying a spot of high-end shopping at Harrods in London on Wednesday, after hitting back at claims made by Maura Higgins

Maura claimed she didn’t go to the event because the designer, 47, brought her an ‘inappropriate’ dress and the wrong shoes, while it was also claimed that he left her in her hotel room for three hours.

But Victoria, who was also dressed by Scott for the evening, was quick to slam Maura’s claims, insisting they were ‘not true’ and that the designer didn’t ‘ignore’ her.

Maura ended up pulling out of the British Fashion Awards at the last minute, claiming that her racy custom-made outfit was ‘not very appropriate’ for the A-list event.

Amid the conflict, Victoria was seen stepping out for a spot of shopping at Harrods on Thursday as she appeared unfazed by the drama.

Victoria took a phone call as she stepped out of the lavish department store, while she also stopped to take a snap of the festive Christian Dior window display.

Her outing came just hours after she hit back against Maura’s claims that Scott Henshall gave her an ‘inappropriate’ dress for the British Fashion Awards.

It was also claimed that Maura was left alone in her hotel room for hours as Scott favoured Victoria, who he also styled for the event.

But slamming the allegations as ‘untrue’, Victoria told MailOnline: ‘What Maura is saying is not true at all. Scott didn’t ignore her.

‘Maura had her own glam team in her room and what I heard is that she liked the dress but Scott’s PR, who was in charge of bringing her shoes, brought her ones she didn’t like.

‘Scott was mad because he did not like the ones the PR chose. It’s absolutely not true to say that Scott left Maura for three hours.

‘He is a professional and the weakness is unfortunately in his PR team. Maura wanted to get her own make-up and hair team in her room.’

She took to Instagram to reveal that she ‘decided not to go’ just minutes before she was due on the red carpet after not feeling comfortable in her gown.

The Irish reality TV star shared an Instagram clip from her hotel room, glammed up with a full face of make-up on and wearing the dress in question.

She said: ‘So guys, everyone is messaging me like, “Where are ya and where are the red carpet pictures?” I’ve had a bit of a nightmare.

‘So obviously you can see I am fully ready. Glam team are on point as usual. Basically…. the dress, the shoes, everything wasn’t something I’d wear.

‘I don’t really know what to say, it’s like, I just feel it’s not very appropriate for the Fashion Awards.

‘I obviously do like to go daring, you guys know that, but I just feel, I don’t know. It’s just not right. So yeah, I’ve decided not to go. I’m still in the hotel as you can see.’

It was also claimed that Maura was upset with Scott after he ‘left her alone for over three hours’ in favour of Victoria before the event.

She allegedly also became agitated by Mulberry’s former creative director when he failed to ‘arrange a selection of shoes for her to wear’, as previously promised.

A source told The Sun: ‘Scott was dressing Maura, Victoria and model Talulah Eve. Maura’s gown was meant to resemble Paris Hilton’s chainmail dress from 2002.

‘Ultimately, it looked nothing like it and she wasn’t happy. Scott was also supposed to arrange a selection of shoes for her to wear, which he didn’t do.

‘He then left Maura waiting in her room alone for over three hours to go to help dress Victoria.’

MailOnline contacted a spokesperson for both Maura and Scott for further information at the time.

An array of the star-studded guest list at the British Fashion Awards 2022 donned head-turning glamorous gowns.

Earlier in the day, Maura had shared a selfie to her Instagram Stories while getting glammed up in her hotel room ahead of the star-studded evening.

Beaming while holding up a peace sign, Maura revealed the designer Scott Henshall, was behind the gown, which she later said she disapproved of.

The penned: ‘BFA tonight… first time to have zero control on my outfit… excited to see what @scott_henshall has designed for me.’

Scott burst onto the fashion scene in 1998, at the young age of 22, being the youngest designer to show at London Fashion Week.

Previously, he was hailed ‘King of the Red Carpet’, after creating a series of iconic dresses including dressing supermodel Jodie Kidd in a web of lace for the first Spider-Man premiere.

In 2004, he attracted global media attention, after designing the World’s Most Expensive Dress, a £5million diamond-encrusted cobweb dress worn by Samantha Mumba.
