Larry Emdur shares hilarious tribute to David Koch as the veteran anchor quits Sunrise after 21 years
Larry Emdur has shared a hilarious tribute to David Koch, as he prepares to bid farewell to Sunrise after 21 remarkable years.
The Morning Show, 58, posted a touching message on Instagram on Thursday night honouring his long-time friend and colleague.
In a nostalgic throwback, Emdur shared a black-and-white snapshot of the pair from their early years in the industry.
‘It’s 1991, a finance nerd and a game show bimbo meet for the first time,’ Larry began.
‘One of them would go on to change the shape of breakfast television forever, the other would just hang around on your TV like a bad smell. They would both lose their hair.’

The poignant post continued, ‘Tomorrow morning, after 21 monumental years on @sunriseon7 we say goodbye to Kochie. I’m happy for him but I’m a little bit sad for television.’
Emdur went on to praise Kochie for his authenticity and his significant contribution to Australian television.
‘He’s given so much and never tried to be anyone or anything other than himself. It’s been an honour sharing a studio, a couch, a network with him for so long,’ he said.

The presenter then urged fans to watch Sunrise for Kochie’s final show, teasing, ‘Tune in tomorrow, it’s going to be HHHHUUGGEEE !!!!!!’
Kochie stunned his colleagues on Monday when he announced his resignation from the hit breakfast show after 21 years.
During his on air announcement, Natalie looked heartbroken when Kochie said he had spent more time with her over the past few years than with members of his own family.
He said he was leaving the hit show to focus on his own businesses and to enjoy more flexible work hours to spend time with his growing family.
Kochie joined Sunrise to present finance reports in 2002 and in October that year became Chris Reason’s replacement when the journalist was diagnosed with cancer.
Matt Shirvington, 44, who will replace Kochie, said he was feeling ‘mixed emotions’ about the new gig.
