The Hollywood heavyweight, 48, was joined by his father George, 79, and rarely seen stepmum Peggy Farrar for the family outing.
Leo kept things casual in a plain white tee and board shorts teamed with a pair of simple slides for their Italian adventure.
His underground comix innovator father George looked somewhat more dapper in a long sleeved white shirt and smart trousers, with yellow glasses showing off his fun personality.
Leo’s stepmother Peggy, who is an Amritdhari Sikh, wore a turquoise turban to contain her hair and dressed in a colourful floral print kaftan.

The Italian holiday comes just days after Gigi Hadid, 28, and Leonardo DiCaprio enjoyed yet another evening out with his father and stepmother in London.
The supermodel and the Oscar-winning actor were both seen arriving at the Chiltern Firehouse in London, on Wednesday.

George also made a name for himself as one of the leading figures in the underground comic scene as a writer, editor and distributor – before guiding son Leo in the early days of his on-screen career.
While Leonardo is an award-winning Hollywood actor, his father has had a brief foray into the movie world.
The elder DiCaprio recently had a small role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1970s-set coming-of-age comedy Licorice Pizza.
He played a wig shop owner and waterbed salesman who convinced the film’s protagonist (played by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Cooper) to start his own waterbed business.
